The Women’s Outreach Course is a specialized training programme for female military signals and police Information and Communications Technology (ICT) specialists. The course covers the necessary knowledge and skills relating to command, control, communications operations, planning systems as well as relevant UN policies, regulations and standard operating procedures required to provide participants with the background needed to prepare for deployment. The course also aims to increase the percentage of women military and police in UN peacekeeping operations and address gender imbalance.
The Micro UAS Instructor course is a specialized training for military, police and civilian personnel who are required to deliver Micro UAS training to personnel in field missions or from Member States or to UN entities. The course is aimed at qualifying UN civilian staff, military, police, and personnel from UN entities and TCCs/PCCs as Micro UAS instructors. Training is designed to provide the Micro UAS instructors who will train Micro UAS operators to support missions with increased ISR, GIS, Engineering surveying and safety and security capabilities. Training content covers the necessary knowledge and skills related to practical flight, theory of flight, UAS regulations, integrating the UAS into existing command and control systems and utilizing existing communication and IT systems to support UAS operations. Personnel will be trained on UN specific use-cases and standard operating procedures. Advanced flight skills and backend support for the Micro UAS systems as well as methods of instruction will also be taught. Fluency in English language is required.
The Training of Trainers course is a specialized training programme for military signals and ICT specialists. The ToT aims to build training capacity within the TCCs/PCCs by enhancing the knowledge and skills of personnel responsible for training signals personnel deploying to UN peacekeeping missions. It covers the necessary knowledge and skills relating to command, control, communications operations, planning systems, UN-Owned Equipment, UN policies, regulations and standard operating procedures as well as training delivery skills required to strengthen TCC/PCC capacities. Fluency in English language is required.
The Training of Trainers (ToT) course is a specialized training programme for military signals and ICT specialists. ToT aims to build training capacity within the TCCs/PCCs by enhancing the knowledge and skills of personnel responsible for training signals personnel deploying to UN peacekeeping missions. The course covers the necessary knowledge and skills relating to command, control, communications operations, planning systems, UN-Owned Equipment, UN policies, regulations and standard operating procedures as well as training delivery skills required to strengthen TCC/PCC capacities. Fluency in French language is required.
The Micro UAS Operator course is a specialized training for military, police and civilian personnel that are required to deliver Micro UAS training to personnel in field missions or from Member States or to UN entities. The Micro UAS instructor programme aims at preparing future trainers to teach UAS operators on how to operate the Micro UAS in compliance with aviation law on UAS flights and the principles of flight. The programme will consist of two main parts, each requiring a certification exam:
This course prepares military and police C4ISR officers to be deployed in UN peacekeeping missions as U6-G6-S6 staff officers with the knowledge of the overall UN C4SIR organization, supporting and supported services. It aims at providing evidence of the relationships and interactions amongst the various C4ISR components and the supported capabilities. At the end of the course, participants will be specialized in C4SIR, will have a solid understanding of UN mandates, C4SIR roles, UN-Owned Equipment and capabilities, and will be operationally ready for deployment.
The purpose of this course is to provide TCC (military) signals unit senior non-commissioned officers (NCOs) and PCC (police) technicians with the knowledge of the overall UN C4ISR organization, supporting and supported services. The course also provides evidence about the relationships and interactions amongst the various C4ISR components and the supported capabilities. At the end of the course, participants will be specialized in C4SIR, will have a solid understanding of UN mandates, C4SIR roles, UN-Owned Equipment and capabilities, and will be operationally ready for deployment. Fluency in English language is required.
The course provides UN Missions and TCC/PCC military and police personnel with the fundamentals of Frequency Management in UN peace operations. Training content covers the necessary knowledge and skills relating to Spectrum Management as well as relevant UN policies, regulations and standard operating procedures required to provide personnel with the background needed to prepare for deployment. Fluency in English language is required.
