Having heard a briefing by Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UN agency for Palestine refugees, UNRWA, ambassadors in the General Assembly are again discussing the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and the critical work of the agency which is facing an existential threat. The meeting follows an Assembly debate this morning on the US veto of the latest Security Council draft resolution calling for a ceasefire in war-torn Gaza.
