Engineers from the Logistics Division within the Office of Supply Chain Management have teamed up with the #ElsieInitiative - a project funded by the Canadian Government to increase women’s participation, retention, and security in Peace Operations. Our Engineers are contributing their knowledge and services in Facilities & Infrastructure (insert building emojis) to help develop improved standards for mission accommodations, camp layouts, bathrooms, recreational facilities, etc., which also aligns with the System-wide Strategy on Gender Parity. The team has engaged with MINURSO, MINUSCA, UNMISS, UNSOS, and UNISFA to look at the unique conditions of each environment and integrate staff feedback into future technical requirements and contract amendments.
