Eligibility to attend

The conference is open to all interested military, police and civilians from United Nations Member States and other UN partner entities. Delegates must be nominated by their organization to participate in the conference.

Online Registration

There is no fee to attend the conference. Nominated delegates must register via the digital portal so that the verification process can begin.

Online registration is open through Friday, 10 May.

Kindly note: no one will be allowed to enter the conference site unless he/she has completed the online registration and can produce verification of such from their Member State, the United Nations, or other sponsoring organization.

This is not a commercial event.

Two formal evening events are open to delegates and their accompanying guests. RSVP through the online registration:

  • Dinner hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday 30 May

SECURITY

Conference pass

Each delegate will be required to present his/her official travel documents (national passport and/or United Nations laissez-passer) to Security upon conference check-in to receive a conference pass. Passes are non-transferrable and must be worn at all times during event hours.

Personal belongings
Delegates are responsible for the security of their own personal belongings. Kindly note that the conference rooms will be unattended during the lunch hour.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Visas
Delegates are required to make their own visa arrangements, if needed, for entry into Kazakhstan.

Getting to the conference venue
The Ritz Carlton is approximately 8 miles northwest from the Nur-Sultan International Airport. Delegates are responsible for arranging their transportation to and from the venue. There is no shuttle provided.

Dress Code Recommendations
During conference hours:

  • Business casual attire is recommended for civilians
  • Class B national working service dress or business casual is recommended for military officials

For special conference events

  • Opening Plenary Session, Tuesday, 28 May: Class A national working service dress for military officials; business formal attire for civilians
  • Official Dinner, Thursday, 30 May: business formal attire for all attendees

Meals and Refreshments

  • Lunch will be served daily at the hotel. Refreshments will be provided during coffee breaks throughout the week of the symposium.
  • A Welcome Reception will be held on Tuesday, 28 May (venue TBD].
  • An Official Dinner will be held on Thursday, 30 May (venue TBD].

Accommodations and Hotel Discounts
Delegates may opt to stay at a hotel of their choice or at one of the four hotels that offer a discounted UN rate.
Discount codes (see below) will also be included in the confirmation email upon submission of your online registration. To take advantage of the discounted rate and pre-booked room availability, you must use the hotel link or discount code at the time of booking. Delegates are responsible for making their own arrangements.
All prices are based on the current currency rate against the US dollar (USD). At the time of publishing, the exchange rate was 380 KZT to 1 USD.

The Marriott is offering a special group rate: 38 000 KZT – 98000 KZT per night per room (rates are higher for deluxe rooms and suites). The rate for double accommodation is 7 000 KZT, including 12% VAT. 

The above rates are valid for single accommodation, include 12% VAT. Rates include a buffet breakfast at Aroma restaurant (the morning after your arrival), access to the health club (gym, pool, sauna, solarium), and wireless high-speed internet. Marriott is within walking distance to the conference venue (approximately 2km).
