On the International Day of Disabled Persons, the United Nations reaffirms its commitment to building a world where no one is left behind. This day serves as a reminder that inclusion is not only a principle; it is a practice that must be embedded across all areas of work.

OSCM plays a key role in advancing this vision. Through its contribution to the Secretary-General’s Disability Inclusion Strategy, OSCM ensures that accessibility and inclusion are integral to UN procurement vendor outreach. In particular, OSCM encourages and supports disability inclusion suppliers to register and participate in UN business opportunities on an equal basis with all other vendors.

This is delivering measurable results under the UN Secretariat Procurement framework:

  • Vendor Registrations: Disability-inclusive supplier registrations grew from 1,309 (≤2020) to 18,662 in 2024, and 17,141 year-to-date in 2025 - rising from 0.6 per cent to 37 per cent of all registrations.
  • Invitations to Tender: Invitations to disability-inclusive suppliers increased from 2,203 in 2019 to 10,553 in 2024, reaching 15.5 per cent of all invitations in 2025.
  • Contract Awards: Awards surged from $42 million in 2018 to $175 million in 2024, raising their share of total award value from 1.4 per cent to 6.3 per cent.

These achievements demonstrate the impact of intentional outreach. For OSCM, inclusion is more than a promise - it is a reality put into practice every day by strengthening an inclusive global supply chain.

Together, these efforts help advance the UN’s commitment to equality and accessibility for all.
